Awards Day

Chuck, Heidi and I went to the kid's award program today. I very rarely get to attend any type of school function, as I am usually in school too, so this was fun to get to go and watch the kids get recognized. I was pretty far back, but got shots of Brock, Kain, Kenzie, and Alaina. We were so proud of them all. Tonight they brought home grade cards and those were excellent as well. I was really glad they did well because the reward for a good grade card is dinner at Takaoka...and I love that! Way to go kids! Just wanted to mention that I didn't intentionally leave Brock out of the pictures, but his class left the program right away and Kenzie's teacher sent Kenzie and Alaina to show us their awards and get a few pics. Somehow Brock always seems to get shortchanged on the blog...sorry buddy!!

Memorial Day Ball Game!

We had so much fun on Memorial Day! We went to Chuck's parent's house for a cookout and to celebrate his mom's birthday. We had a big wiffleball game and, for the first time ever, I think everyone played. We really had a good time and laughed so much. I tried to get a picture of everyone, but when I got home, I realized I didn't have everyone. Thankfully, my sister-in-law, Jodi, was able to email some of her pics to me. Thanks, Jodi!!! We really had a great day. Enjoy the slide show of everyone gettin' their sport on!

Dance Recital 2009

Dance recital 2009 was a success! I just love watching the girls dance. They always put on a great show and this year was no exception. Enjoy our yearly pictures of Kenzie with some of her most special fans. There is also one with her very special friend, Jenna (aren't they cute together?). I can't believe that I forgot to have one taken of her with Chuck and I, but sure enough, I forgot!

Dance Rehearsal

Kenzie had rehearsal last night for her dance recital, which is tonight. I am always so proud when I watch her dance. These girls have been taught well and when they are on the stage they are confident and brave...I can't imagine performing in front of so many people! Kenzie just loves Miss Kim and she was so excited to be getting her 5 year trophy because she gets to go on stage and recieve her trophy from Miss Kim! She is in five different numbers this year for tap, ballet, jazz and cheer. We have seen so much growth with McKenzie over these past five years and it is amazing to watch the girls dance together. Anyway...enjoy the pictures! I didn't photograph all of the dances, but the ones here are "Annie" and "Hang On Sloopy" - that is her favorite! We wish her and her friends the best of luck at recital tonight!!

That's her right up front! Whoo Hoo!!

Field Trip Fun!

Chuck went with Kenzie on her field trip to the Botanical Gardens. I love this first picture of Erica, Alaina, Kenzie, and Grace. These are such sweet and nice girls and they are all such great friends to Kenzie!

Brenden couldn't resist a picture with the ladies!

Aren't these two cute together?

Chuck is pretty handy with the camera! I was impressed!

Trying to get the butterflies to land on their hand...don't they look excited?!?!

LOVE this girl!! Isn't she a cutie? We adore Alaina...she wasn't in Chuck's group, but he got a few of her.

Goofy girls! I love how much fun they have together!! What a great note to end on!!

Mother's Day...Finally!

Mother's Day was great. We made a weekend of it and enjoyed it all weekend long. On Saturday we took my mom to supper at Cheddars. We had a nice dinner and then went to Mom and Dad's and just had a nice evening visiting. On Sunday, which was also my father-in-law's birthday, we went to church and then had a cookout at Nikki's house. It was really a fun time. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera when I was with Mom, but I did have it on Sunday and got a few of me with the kids, my niece Grace, and my mother-in-law, Cindy. I am blessed to have an awesome Mom and Mother-In-Law!

Anyone Interested?

Hey, sorry I haven't been on lately! With this being the end of the school year, we have just been super busy. Dance is wrapping up, with recital just around the corner, I have meetings, meetings, meetings at school and Kenzie and Chuck are just starting softball...the list goes on and on. Anyway...my friend Erin (Chuck's cousin) is thinking of selling her D80 camera, body only, so that she can upgrade. If anyone has any interest (or knows anyone who is interested) just let me know and I will get you her contact information. Hopefully I'll be able to do a full fledged post soon!!

Tuesday Tribute

This week I didn't get around to putting together a Tuesday Tribute post. I thought maybe I would just skip it, but I got a phone call from my mom this evening and I knew what I wanted to write for my tribute. It is a little different than what I have done in the past, but I think it is just what belongs here this week. My dad's uncle received word that his great niece, Olivia, who is only 18 months old, has cancer. She had a mass on her face and it was found to be cancerous. They took a biopsy to determine the severity and type of cancer. They are going to check her vision, as they worry that she may have a type of cancer that can take her vision away. They will soon be doing more testing to see if it has spread to any other areas, and to her brain in particular. They will also be putting a tube in her stomach to do chemotherapy. I do not know this family personally, as they are part of our extended family, but I am going to be praying specifically for her and, if you are a praying person, would you please pray for her too?
